M5 × 0.8 mm: 12 mm flange diameter, 5 mm height; use an 8 mm twelve-point socket
M6 × 1.0 mm: 14 mm flange diameter, 6 mm height; use a 10 mm twelve-point socket
M8 × 1.25 mm: 18 mm flange diameter, 8 mm height; use a 13 mm twelve-point socket
M10 × 1.25 or 1.5 mm: 22 mm flange diameter, 10 mm height; use a 15 mm twelve-point socket

Measure the original stud's diameter and pitch, and compare flange seating, available thread engagement and surrounding socket clearance.
